What is Membership?

Covenant Membership is our way of committing to one another as family. Anyone who considers themselves to be a dedicated part of South Hills Evangelical Church and is committed to it's ministry is encouraged to pursue membership.

Below you will find a link to the South Hills Evangelical Church Membership application which has all the details of membership, but here's the gist of it...

By becoming a covenant member, you’re saying, “I believe that God is moving in this body of believers and want to be an active part of the ministry: being used by God to further His kingdom through what He’s doing at South Hills Evangelical Church. I trust the leadership and submit to their spiritual authority and care over my life. I will also commit my prayers, time, money, and resources, as God allows, to invest in His work in this local body.”

Being that this is a "covenant" relationship, the Elders of South Hills Evangelical Church have responsibilities too. By becoming a covenant member, the leadership of SHEC is saying, “We are committed to you and your spiritual health/growth. We will care deeply for your family’s spiritual, physical and emotional needs. We will teach you the truth of God’s Word faithfully on Sundays and in ALL our ministries, from the nursery to the sanctuary. We will pray for you when you are sick or in distress. And we will lead the ministries of South Hills Evangelical Church, by His grace, in a Biblical and God-honoring way."

The 'Treasure Series', an 8 week sermon series on the values of South Hills Evangelical Church, is a required viewing for anyone wanting to become a member.
