Recently, four of the staff went to Billings for a one day seminar in conflict coaching. The seminar was put on by Peacemaker Ministries and the purpose of the training was to educate us on the biblical principles of conflict resolution. Having a truer biblical view of conflict will hopefully, with practice and God’s mercy, allow us to better serve others to resolve their conflicts and reconcile broken relationships.
When you think about “spiritual warfare,” do you think of images of wrestling, weapons, battlefields, and armor (Eph. 6:10-18)? Or maybe adversity, disease, rebuking, and exorcism (Matthew 17:18)?
Walter Cronkite is one of the most well known news anchors in the last 50 years of broadcast journalism. There are those who would disagree with the manner in which he presented the news but none would argue that he had one of the best known signature sign-offs.
A good message or story will usually have a “grabber” opening, a main idea, and a demand on the audience. Milo Frank is the author of the book “How to Run a Meeting in Half the Time”. In the book he recalls waiting for a meeting to start and being struck by a headline that he couldn’t resist reading; the headline read “Ugly Dogs Die”. Not being able to shake the interest, Frank read the article.
So many guys struggle with lust and porn. I’m not sure if there is a gender equivalent sin for women, but to be honest, sin is sin. I am of the male species and never want to imply a separation from what men struggle with. I have just read a great view of this sin, which bears repeating and application.
I have always been an early riser. When I was six years old, and just starting school you would find me sitting on the couch with my feet sticking straight out at 6:30 a.m. daily, shirt ironed and ready for the day.
